Our Story

We are SOCIÉTÉ, northern San Diego's premier floral design shop for making the everyday, and special days, more beautiful.  European inspiration brings an elegant touch to every arrangement or event we create, but we also seek to infuse each work with a smart sense of surprise and delight--what can only be summed up in the French phrase, je ne sais quoi.  Committed to using the very best products to create breathtaking and memorable designs, SOCIÉTÉ is your go-to source for elegant and chic floral design.

For centuries, artisans and their patrons have formed societies to preserve the beauty of the arts.  At SOCIÉTÉ, we strive to continue this practice by creating true floral artistry to beautify the lives of our customers.

SOCIÉTÉ was formed in 2016 by co-owners Allison Stevens and Jen Haldeman, two seemingly very different women who soon discovered they had a great deal in common--particularly their love of European floral design.  Jen and Allison perfected the plan for SOCIÉTÉ over the past two years, while also discovering they both love the same brand of lip balm, have the same text message ringtone, and that they share an unnatural love of passion fruit in any form.  With so much in common, they decided to open a retail floral design shop together.

Creative Director, Allison Stevens, has been providing distinctive artistic floral designs and professional service to San Diego, Orange County, and the Temecula Wine Country for over ten years through her floral studio, Magnolia.  She now brings this legacy of quality and experience to SOCIÉTÉ.

Formally trained in floral design in France's Loire Valley, where this discipline is respected as an art form and profession, Allison has a deep knowledge of floral varieties and a multitude of design styles.  Allison's studies and travels around France and Europe continue to serve as timeless inspiration for her designs, and unusual floral varieties and botanicals native to Southern California inspire her year after year to create surprising and distinctive arrangements. Allison also has a gift for developing a customized approach for each client, whether it be for an individual arrangement, or designing a large wedding or private event--each is exclusively suited to the customer and their desires.

Managing Director, Jen Haldeman moved to Europe at the age of fifteen.  Her floral memories include the quaint and meticulous flower shops of Vienna, the tulip fields of Keukenhoff, and the extravagant floral arrangements of grand European hotels and fine restaurants.  She came to internalize the wonderful continental attitude that fresh flowers are not an extravagance, but an everyday necessity of good living.

After working in the corporate world for years to support her love of travel--50 countries and counting--Jen decided it was time to, pardon the pun, stop and smell the roses.  She hung up her briefcase and picked up a pair of floral shears full-time two years ago.  She has also trained in France, as well as across the U.S. with some of the most gifted florists of today.  As Managing Director, Jen brings to SOCIÉTÉ her own unique sense of style, her business experience, and a passion for providing exceptional service.
